First State Bank is a community focused bank based in the Northern Red River Valley with a history longer than the statehood of North Dakota itself.

Founded in 1879 during the Dakota Territory era, First State Bank has a rich history of growth and service. Originally chartered as the Bank of Buxton, it became First State Bank in 1985 and has expanded to include locations in Buxton, Thompson, Grand Forks, Portland, and Mayville. With more than 140 years of history, First State Bank remains dedicated to fostering personal connections and a hometown feel across the communities it serves.

The Partnership

First State Bank partnered with the Be Told team in December of 2023. They were seeking a partner to help them develop their brand and communicate their values to the communities they serve.

The Story to BE TOLD

We understood First State Bank’s tenured history of top-tier service and community-focused banking. Their slogan of, “Today. Tomorrow. Together.” showcases their commitment to their clients, and we knew to convey that.

The Deliverable

While First State had a strong internal culture, their market presence and public awareness was minimal. Our partnership elevated their brand and exposed them to the communities they serve.

Vision Savings

For First State Bank, we created a video that tells the story of their Vision Savings Account—a program designed to grow with children from their first deposit to high school graduation.

To capture the essence of this account, we chose on-camera talent and locations that reflect key stages of a child’s life. The video takes viewers on a journey, showcasing meaningful milestones where the Vision Savings Account plays a role— whether it’s a young child making their first deposit or a proud graduate withdrawing their savings for the next chapter.

Our goal was to create a visual narrative that highlights the long-term value of this account while resonating with families who want to invest in their children’s future. We’re proud to help First State Bank share their vision and inspire families to start saving today.
